UPDATE: MAY 2020 IB Exams

March 23, 2020

IB Juniors and Seniors,

In response to the Covid 19 pandemic, the IB has determined that IB exams typically given in May can not be held this year. This simply means that the sample of work IB will evaluate for you will be smaller. In fact, your scores will be determined by your internal and externally-graded components such as your EE, TOK essay, English written tasks and IOC.

As a reminder, these items were submitted to IB prior to Spring Break. Our focus now turns to the remainder of your subject groups.

Over the coming weeks, you'll submit all IA's in Groups 2-6 (Language Acquisition, Social Studies, Sciences, Maths, & The Arts).  Your IB Coordinator will communicate with you via ManageBac updated due dates for each subject group and will reissue appointment schedules for completion of the Group 2: LOTE (Spanish, German, French) IOC's. Updates will be coming with regard to how to complete tasks which require direct instruction or studio/lab time.

To that end, please check email and ManageBac twice daily going forward. Send any questions to Ms. Brosche at andi_brosche@roundrockisd.org.

March 1, 2020

Transfer applications will be accepted from March 2 through April 3, 2020 at 5 p.m. Parents must have a Home Access Center (HAC) account to request a transfer for the 2020-2021 school year.

Notification of approval/denial will be made by the middle of May.

  • Only one application will be accepted per student during March of a school year

  • Transfers outside of the window will not be accepted for the upcoming school year. Exceptions to this include:

    • new Round Rock ISD employee,

    • safety concerns,

    • moving in/out attendance zone

  • High school students who are a continuing transfer will not be required to apply every year (see below for student responsibilities)

  • March 2: Application Window Opens for Student Transfers
April 3: Application Window Closes for Student Transfers
Mid May: Parent Notification of Approval/Denial of Student Transfer (e-mail notices)

Adhering to this timeline is critical so Round Rock ISD may allocate personnel appropriately.

Student transportation is not provided for transfer students.

    Quality Assurance

    & Professional Development

Any school wishing to offer the Diploma Programme and attain IB World School status must first go through the authorization process. The requirements for authorization are the same for all schools, even though the process is administered slightly differently in each IB region. The process is designed to ensure schools are well prepared to implement the programme successfully. This is a challenging programme that demands the best from both motivated students and teachers. Schools can access an extensive package of IB professional development for teachers and administrators and commit to ongoing professional development. Schools are required to participate in an ongoing process of review and development, using standards and practices that apply to all IB World Schools.

     Why IB?

    Holistically Minded
